Since multiple people are probably using your MFP, it’s important to clean and sterilize it. Operating panels and touch displays must be cleaned regularly.
Luckily, cleaning a Ricoh copier or printer isn’t too difficult. Here’s a full guide on how to clean your RICOH Multifunction Printer (MFP).
What materials can I use for MFP cleaning?
Most types of antibacterial wipes and sprays are ideal for use with MFPs. These include Windex and Lysol, among others.
What shouldn’t I use?
Cleaners with bleach and other harsh solvents should be avoided. These will only damage the touch screen.
Is a spray bottle suitable?
It is important to not spray any liquid directly onto the touch screen. It’s better to spray the solvent on a soft cloth first and then gently wipe it across the surface. Afterward, use a lint-free microfiber cloth as it keeps the surface of the touchscreen intact. Paper towels are not suggested.
The best way you can clean your MFP:
To kill the bacteria, you should use the antibacterial solution or wipes on your screen for 3-5 minutes. If the surface dries out before that, reapply the solution a few times. It’s best to clean your device when it’s not in use.
The screen and control panel shouldn’t be too wet. Wipe the surface of the screen or panel to absorb any excess liquid.
Never use the cleaning solutions on the inner parts. Instead, call the service center immediately.
Use Your MFP Without Touching the Screen:
Of course, you can avoid touching the screen using the RICOH Smart Device Connector, as this requires no direct contact with the screen.
